About Joseph  Choe

Joseph Choe was born in Austin, Texas and was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. Choe began expressing interest in art at the age of seven, demonstrating artistic originality and an individual style through drawing his favorite cartoons characters. Choe began to receive instruction and training from several art teachers.  One influential art teacher and mentor was found in American artist, David Choe, who recognized and cultivated Choe’s talent.  Choe’s current works have been predominantly created using acrylic.  He worked with teachers from Hoosso Art Studio and Academy of Music and Arts for Special Education (AMASE) before relocation to New Jersey in November 2022.

Choe’s artwork has been exhibited at various locations including World Mission Baptist Church, Valley Church, Norton Gallery of the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto, Saratoga Library, Family Touch in New Jersey and Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in San Francisco.  Choe published three calendar series, each depicting biblical stories.
